Antares-Simulator serves as the core software within the broader Antares Ecosystem—a suite of interconnected packages and tools related to the Antares project. This ecosystem includes a variety of specialized software and resources designed to work in coordination with Antares-Simulator.

R Packages

The Monte-Carlo approach embedded in Antares-Simulator can, if all filters are unrestrained, generates large datasets of output data. For this reason, R packages have been designed to help the reading, post-processing and visualization of the Antares-Simulator results. The R packages are a powerful tool when it comes to deepen the analyses of a simulation as they provide to the users the possibility to look at specific results of a study, to cross-compare some outputs, to automatize post-processing calculations, to plot data or to draw maps.

They rely on the R language, which is a high-level programming language particularly appropriate for data science and manipulation of big datasets. R scripts are commonly developed and run with the visual development interface R studio.

antaresRead

Efficiently imports Antares output data into R environment for advanced analysis.

antaresProcessing

Processes and aggregates simulation data, simplifying the interpretation of complex results.

antaresEditObject

Allows users to programmatically modify Antares study parameters, facilitating automation and customization of simulations.

antaresViz

Creates interactive visualizations to display simulation outputs in various graphical formats.

antaresWaterValues

Calculates water values for reservoirs using Antares simulations and dynamic programming, aiding in optimal water resource management.

fbClust

This package allows to analyse a database of Flow-Based domains and to cluster and extract the most representative domains to be applied to an Antares study, as well as probability matrices to allocate the domains on prospective studies.

fbAntares

This package allows to add Flow-Based domains as binding constraints in Antares. It also provides a method to reduce the complexity of Flow-Based domains, and visualization functions.

Antares Web

Antares Web is a web-based platform that brings the functionalities of Antares Simulator to your browser. It enables remote access to simulation tools, allowing users to set up, run, and monitor simulations from anywhere with internet access. Antares Web also facilitates collaboration among team members by providing shared access to simulation projects and results in a centralized online environment.

Antares Launcher

The Antares Launcher is a command-line application designed to facilitate the execution of Antares simulations on remote servers. It streamlines the process of submitting simulation jobs, managing configurations, and retrieving results, making it particularly useful for large-scale studies or automated workflows.

Antares Xpansion

Xpansion extends Antares Simulator's capabilities by introducing capacity expansion planning. It allows users to optimize investments in generation and transmission infrastructure over a planning horizon, considering both operational and investment costs to identify cost-effective strategies for expanding energy systems to meet future demand. It can be used as a desktop application, and it is also integrated into the Antares Web.
